Buckhorn Ranch Details
Buckhorn Ranch is a turnkey cattle business with a wide variety of terrain from gently rolling prairie grass to mountain ranges;
a setting that is also ideal for hiking and hunting. Miles of recently installed power lines and new well and
water storage systems provide prime development and sub-division opportunities.
Terrain
The ranch contains a wide variety of terrain from gently rolling prairie grass to beautiful mountain ranges. Mogollon and Rain Creek run through deeded land with large, glistening waterfalls.

Wildlife and Hunting
Ranch has an abundance of bear, elk, deer, javelina, mountain lion, coyote and turkey. The ranch gets approximately 8-12 elk permits per year. The extended hunting season for Elk is three months on private land. The land has four strategically placed hunting towers and two commercial radio towers. All vehicles have commercial Motorola radios. Also included are a shooting range for rifle, pistol, and skeet practice.
Electric Power
In the past several years over 20 miles of electric power have been strategically placed on deeded land for future development and
sub-division of the land.
Modern Electric Utilities
All living quarters have working phones and satellite TV. Summerhaven and the ranch headquarters have internet service, working phones, satellite TV and fax lines.
Water and Wells
There are five new wells and eight in total strategically placed on deeded land so all parts of the ranch can have access to water. There are four huge water storage tanks above ground, and two large underground water storage tanks. One of the above ground storage tanks can hold over 30,000 gallons of water. Across the ranch there are over 25 water troughs that are fed from the storage tanks and wells, and placed in all pastures for cattle to drink from. There are also 17 dirt tanks spread across all the pastures.
Forest Service Water Rights
All of the springs, streams, permanent water holes, and ground tanks were surveyed on the forest service permit and filed by local attorney Jim Reynolds with the state of New Mexico. Because Buckhorn Ranch grazes their cattle on Forest Service land and uses all of the water sources listed, there is a strong possibility that Buckhorn Ranch might have water ownership rights (case pending in the state of New Mexico).
Roads
There are over 45 miles of dirt roads on private land that give access to all canyons, pastures and homes for easy access to cattle round up and hunting.
Ranch Headquarters

It also has a large outdoor covered porch that can store vehicles and equipment. All rooms in the headquarters are heated and air-conditioned. Building has three commercial grade roller doors for easy access of large equipment and commercial grade flood lighting.
